  • Suzanne Hanifin

    PRESIDENT & FOUNDER

    Suzanne Hanifin is the founder and President of Acumen Executive Search. She brings a great deal of heart, insight, a spirit of giving back, and an insistence on doing the right thing to the search process. She lets people know they are deeply cared for, seen, and in good hands when they engage with her company. Suzanne believes in win/win solutions. All parties involved walk away from negotiations feeling seen and satisfied with Suzanne leading the way.

    A strong advocate for professional women across industries, Suzanne often states that nothing energizes her more than interacting with and supporting smart, strong, innovative, and caring women. She is a co-founder of Leader and Executives Across Professions (LEAP) - an innovative mentorship organization for professional women.

    Additionally, she is a board member and co-President of the Oregon chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), a member of Vistage, an Executive Group Leader of ProVisors, and a Board Member of the Pacific Northwest Defense Coalition. (PNDC).

  • Tanis Morris

    DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

    Tanis Morris resonates with Acumen’s mission of providing high-quality executive search services. Tanis began her career in corporate sales but quickly transitioned to working with startups. Her early experiences with bringing a product to market, consulting with clients to understand and deliver value, and creating sustainable revenue streams informed and continues to shape her passion for business development, but her strongest motivation is connecting with and developing strong relationships with clients and contacts.

    Tanis is an active volunteer community member. She sits on the board of a local arts organization and holds office as Vice President of her community school board. She also leads membership efforts for Oregon Bioscience Association, sits on the Executive Committee for ProVisors Portland, is a new board member for the Oregon Chapter of the Association of Corporate Growth (ACG) and is a member of the Portland Executive Association.

    Tanis is a mission-driven leader who believes in working backward from the goal and in the power of a detailed plan. She is thrilled to be engaging in the meaningful conversations taking place at Hiring For Good and looks forward to learning from and being inspired by the new contacts and friends she’ll meet on this platform.

  • Hewitt Pagenstecher

    PRODUCER

    Hewitt Pagenstecher founded Amygdala Media in 2019 to help businesses of all sizes share memorable & compelling content that accurately depicts their values, brand, & personality. Hewitt loves learning about local businesses and helping them share what makes them special and impactful with their customers. Hewitt is heavily involved in various Portland communities including the Portland Executives Association, one of Portland’s oldest business networking associations. He is also a prominent part of the Portland comedy scene where Hewitt produces one of the city's most popular stand -up comedy shows, Laugh Basement, which brings laughter and levity to people every Monday. Hewitt has interviewed countless business owners and nonprofit leaders on Amygdala Media’s YouTube channel where he raises awareness of impactful, local businesses and people. Hewitt graduated with a major in Business Administration, a concentration in Marketing, and a minor in psychology from Southern Oregon University.

We record twice monthly at the beautiful Page Street Sound Lab in Portland, Oregon. Each conversation will discuss the interviewee’s background and their growth and development as an individual and organizational leader. We will explore how they’ve translated personally held values to a broader scale and the qualities they look for when hiring leaders and building teams. Finally, we will examine the important lessons leadership has provided and discuss what “Hiring For Good” means to them personally.

  • Our guests are transformative leaders from a broad array of organizational backgrounds. They strongly resonate with the idea that building the right team leads to operational success. They are humbled by the trust others place in them as leaders and inspired by the gifts and talents of the people on their teams. With a willingness to be vulnerable and transparent, it is our hope that the leaders we interview will foster a desire within our listeners to improve as leaders and humans.

  • We record new conversations twice monthly. These full conversations will be posted on the second and fourth week of each month, and clips from each interview will be posted throughout the month.
